Mourne Sprint Distance Triathlon  is set to take place on Saturday 26th August 2017

This year we have also included a supersprint and aquabike race!
Swim in the clear waters of Castlewellan lake, bike on closed roads with superb views of the Mournes, and finish with a run around the lake in the stunning setting of Castlewellan Forest Park.
Both individual and relay team entries are available, so there’s never been a better time to take up the challenge!
Information about this year’s course can be found below. Entries are filling fast so don’t delay.

 

Swim Course

The swim course is a straight line from 750 metres (400m for supersprint competitors) out to the swim exit in the clear waters of Castlewellan lake. Swimmers will walk to the start line and, for those doing the race for the first time, see part of the run course. Competitors will enter the water at the designated area and it will be a floating start. There will be a separate wave for the supersprint race.

There is a short run to transition, which is located in the carpark.

Bike Course

The bike course is an out and back 20Km cycle from Castlewellan towards Katebridge. The course is a scenic route with a mixture of hills and fast sections to keep everyone happy!

Run Course

Competitors run around the lake in a clockwise direction, to finish in the castle courtyard. Water stations will be provided.
