Welcome to Olympian Triathlon Club

Olympian Triathlon Club is Ireland’s longest running Triathlon Club, founded in 1984.

In the early days, the small band of members enjoyed triathlon in various formats and distances. Two members completed the first triathlon in Ireland: swim in Portadown Pool, cycle to Brownlow, swim and a run. We organised a Try-athlon aimed at encouraging new athletes to the sport, and the first all ladies triathlon in 1986.

Olympian Triathlon Club is home to keen triathletes of all levels, from absolute beginners to world champions and ironmen.  There are a wide variety of club training sessions organised to suit different abilities and needs. Professional triathlon coach David Graham oversees training.

Olympian Triathlon Club produces a steady stream of competitors who have represented Ireland in events including World Championships, European Championships, and Commonwealth Games. We race over Sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman and Ironman distance courses.

An influx of spirited new blood has breathed a new vibrancy into the club in the last few years.

Olympian Triathlon Club organise the Mourne Triathlon in the spectacular surroundings of Castlewellan Forest Park. In 2012 we were involved in the inaugral Titanic Triathlon, the course for the World Police and Fire Games in 2014.

We look forward to continuing success at all levels: junior, age group and international.
